It always feels like an exciting moment when you can say goodbye to puffer coats and heavy duty layers for another year, and finally think about something other than functionality. The temperatures might be rising, but spring dressing can still be challenging: sporadic bursts of sunshine interspersed with April showers (even the odd sight of snow) make it hard to know what to leave the house in.
There are several jackets and coats that will always be considered spring classics, making them a sensible pillar of your wardrobe to invest in. The bomber jacket has made a triumphant return, and arguably looks its coolest in navy, green or black leather. There is also an appreciation for the shapes and styles of the ’90s and Noughties, whether that’s an oversized biker jacket or grungey cargo jacket. The colour palette, meanwhile, is quite muted, with lots of olive greens and navy blues, giving these trends a minimalist feel.
