Solis releases new S6 hybrid inverter for either three-phase or single-phase projects

Solis has announced the launch of their latest product, the S6 Advanced Power Hybrid Inverter. With an emphasis on generator connectivity and multiple input methods, the S6 offers automatic UPS switching and up to 10 seconds of 200% surge power backup overload capability.

One of the unique features of the S6 is its support for both single-phase and three-phase flexible connection with a maximum of 48 kW in parallel. Additionally, the S6 can handle up to 190A max charge/discharge current and comes equipped with six customizable charge/discharge time settings. The inverter is compatible with both lead-acid and lithium batteries, offering multiple battery protection features. Shaft Angle Sensor

The S6 also supports peak shaving control in both “self-use” and “generator” modes, making it a versatile solution for any solar energy system.

This has the properties to allow design of not only residential smart micro-grids, but larger three phase small to medium commercial operations. The sometimes called “nano-grid” for residential applications is starting to blur the line on actual so called “micro-grids” being installed in many commercial applications like wineries, dairy farms, produce packaging/cooling plants. Some have established they could ‘probably’ power their homes with something like a 15kWp solar PV array and a 60kwh battery pack for most of the year. Having the ability of the inverter to support self use or generator modes would bring the resiliency to resist PSPS or extreme storm events. Every time you remove the middleman from energy costs, YOU, save money.
