Could this Honda start a trend of other S2000s being fitted with Toyota GR 86 bumpers?

Many would agree that the Honda S2000 is a Japanese sports car great and that vehicles like it should be kept stock. However, there is a very large contingent of S2000 owners and enthusiasts who love to tune and modify it. Photos of this S2000 were recently shared to the Front And Rear End Swaps page on Facebook and show one that’s received a host of modifications. The most striking of these is the fitment of the front bumper from a Toyota GR 86. Yep, this 20-year-old Honda has a front bumper from a new Toyota and much to our surprise, it looks brilliant.

Limited details about this S2000 are known but it appears to reside somewhere in Japan. It is currently bathed in a shade of blue but was originally silver before the owner went to town to transform the bodywork. In addition to it rocking the bumper of a GR 86, it also has flared wheel arches, a custom carbon fiber hood, a fixed hardtop, and a massive rear wing.

It’s unclear how difficult it would have been grafting the GR 86’s bumper onto to the Honda. However, we can see that some changes have been made to it given that the front of the S2000 is narrower than the GR 86. Indeed, the parts of the GR 86’s bumper that extend above the front grille and air intakes have been ditched and modified to accommodate the headlights of the Honda. Curiously, the owner has retained the original GR badge on the grille.
