SHANGHAI, Apr 23 (SMM) - China’s lithium carbonate imports were 17,428 mt in March, a month-on-month increase of 85% and a year-on-year growth of 58%.

The average import price stood at $61,335/mt in March 2023, a drop of 23% month-on-month but a surge of 183% year-on-year. The average import price from Chile stood at $64,452/mt, down 24% month-on-month.
Around 78% of imported lithium carbonate went to Shanghai, 10% to Fujian, 6% to Jiangsu and 4% to Sichuan. Lithium carbonate imports totalled 21,307 mt from January to March 2023, a year-on-year increase of 41%.
