Costco Canada has issued an "urgent" recall and is warning shoppers.
Costco Wholesale Canada says it is voluntarily recalling Kirkland Signature White Nitrile Medical Examination Gloves sold at Costco Warehouse or Business Centre locations in Canada, or online on Costco.ca (Costco Grocery) or Costcobusinesscentre.ca or through the Instacart shopping app between January 2022 and May 2022 (lots are described and pictured below). The gloves in some of these lots were found not to meet the ASTM D6319 standard for medical gloves, Costco said in a May 10 warning to customers.
"Costco Wholesale Canada is not aware of any reports of adverse consequences arising from the use of any of the gloves in these lots, but there is a potential risk the gloves that are being recalled may fail to provide the user with the protection desired of a medical grade glove," Costco said.
The gloves were manufactured for Costco and imported by AMD Medicom.
Gloves from the recalled lots "should not be used or distributed further," Costco said.
Shoppers can return the gloves to a Costco warehouse to obtain a full refund. For more information, contact Costco Canada’s recall partner, Sedgwick, by calling 1-877-597-9588.
